Stories honoring the tenth anniversary of 9/11.The Candlelight Vigil was held on the evening of Sept. 11 on the town common. Several hundred people attended this memorial.
Shrewsbury Fire Chief James Vuona will unveil a steel piece of the World Trade Center at the 9/11 vigil tonight, Sunday. The candlelight vigil will take place at the town common at 8 p.m. "The piece of steel will be displayed at the fire station after the vigil," Chief Vuona said. "We've had a wooden case made and we want to honor those who were lost on 9/11." The chief also said a 9/11 flag will be hung from the fire truck's ladders along with the American flag. Residents are asked to bring a candle and a donation for the orphans 9/11 fund.

Ross Janson was asleep when the first plane hit the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2011. He was in the U.S. Navy deployed on Virginia Beach when his roommate woke him up saying, "Dude, come see this." Janson, like all of America, was glued to the television wondering what happened. Sam Levine was in first grade at Beal School on Sept. 11, 2011.
