Three Arrested for Burglary and Threats in Shrewsbury

The Marlborough residents were caught after a break-in on Race Avenue.

 

At 12:24 a.m. on Nov. 10 officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department received a call for a breaking and entering in progress on Rice Avenue. According to the caller three males were trying to force their way through the front door of the home.

While on the way the officers were informed that the men had fled in a vehicle toward Route 70.

A short time later the vehicle was stopped in Boylston on Route 140.

According to police reports officers observed damage to the house and door of Rice Avenue. At the scene the officers were told one of the suspects threatened to kill the victim while they were attempting to enter.

The victim claimed that the males took $2,000 before fleeing the scene.

After a positive identification from the victim, one of whom the victim recognized, police arrested the three men. James Campbell, 20, of 12 Red Spring Rd., Marlborough, Joseph Campbell, 17, of 12 Red Spring Rd., Marlborough and Robert Hitrik, 24, of 386 Simpson Rd. Marlborough.

All three suspects were charged with defacing/damaging property, armed burglary, conspiracy and threatening to commit a crime.

The three men were arraigned this morning at Westborough District Court.
