Shrewsbury Residents Will See Electric Rate Cuts
SELCO will be reducing the costs for most electric users in town.
Starting next month Shrewsbury residents, and most other electric rate payers in town, will see a reduction in their monthly bills.
According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the decrease for residential use will be 4.2 percent.
"For instance, the monthly bill for a household that uses 500 kilowatt hours will go from $61.75 to $59.26," the Telegram says.
Most other customers will see a decrease as well, although the largest commercial businesses will see an increase.
