POLL: Facebook Timeline: Yay or Nay?

We all got the timeline on Facebook without a choice.

While the timeline on Facebook might be great for businesses, the general consensus is that it is a huge miss, according to a survey done by Sophos Security on MSNBC.com.

Of the 4,000 Facebook users polled, 51.29 percent polled said the timeline worried them because of safety and privacy concerns and another 32.36 percent said they are questioning why they still use Facebook.

The new timeline allows Facebook users to upload more personal information, but that information will now be able to be viewed by more people, according to MSNBC.com. And users will not be able to switch to an old version or opt out.

We want to hear from you. Will you leave Facebook? Are you frustrated with yet another change? Take our poll and tell us in the comments.

Does anyone else think its funny that people complain about a service they dont even pay for? All that Facebook does anyway is allow narcissists a place to rant and share pictures of their kids and pets that no one cares about.

It's not "funny" when something you signed up for suddenly becomes something totally different. I agree that many Facebook users are on some sort of ego trip, but some of us looked at it as simply an opportunity to hook up with long-lost acquaintances. Now I'm abandoning it for good.

It seems like there is a market for a website to start up using the old Facebook format. I think a lot of us would move over to that. When you see this much unnecessary design change, and that includes this website (sorry Patch), it is a sign that there are a lot of people in management who are trying to justify their jobs. Seems to me they are coming up with unnecessary work so that they can look busy and get paid for it. No need to change Facebook, it wasn't broken. No need to change the Patch, it wasn't broken. Heck, look at all the imitators. That should be a sign not to change anything.

It isn't so much about the privacy issues....timeline is just simply confusing to navigate. The pages are so busy, and it's hard to tell where your post is or where to find things on other people's pages. There is a reason people left Myspace for Facebook, and Facebook needs to remember that.

Once we get used to the new layout, it's really not that bad. It's actually better on the iPhone. People don't handle change well, but the makers of Facebook aren't trying to piss users off, but instead trying to make it better. Most of their changes come because of feedback, hence why they alter things so often. Just go with it - it's not that bad!! There are plenty of other more important things to channel energy into.
