Police Log: Two Arrests at Worcester City Motel

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

 

Friday, Nov. 30

9:12 a.m.: The Animal Control Officer located and assisted an injured swan on Sewell Street.

3:52 p.m.: A tractor-trailer got stuck while attempting a U-turn at the intersection of Elm Street and Baily Road.

5:33 p.m.: One person was taken to the hospital after a two-car crash on Memorial Drive. Both vehicles were towed.

6:21 p.m.: The Shrewsbury Police and Fire Departments responded to a kitchen fire at 50 Boston Turnpike.

7:56 p.m.: Officers responded to a call for assistance at 10 Tralee Ln. Upon their arrival they arrested John Altomare, 52, at his home. Altomare was charged with domestic assault and battery.

Saturday, Dec. 1

2:27 a.m.: Officers responded to the Worcester City Motel where they arrested Ann Benoit, 39, of 249 Cambridge St., Worcster. Benoit faced three warrant charges and well as one charge of possession of a class B substance.

2:38 a.m.: While at the Worcester City Motel, officers arrested Jose Diaz, 48, of 249 Cambridge St., Worcester. Diaz is also facing warrant charges.

11:30 a.m.: A man was taken in to protective custody after his wife reported that he was under the influence and out of control in a vehicle she was driving.

10:01 p.m.: A homeowner was spoken to after an anonymous caller reported a party on Deergrass Road. The responding officer noted more than 20 cars parked in the road.

Sunday, Dec. 2

2:38 a.m.: A woman was taken in to protective custody after she called to report that her sister stole her keys and would not let her drive.

10:22 a.m.: One person was taken to the hospital after they drove their vehicle into a telephone pole on Colonial Drive.

4:12 p.m.: A caller from Plainfield Avenue reported that his car window had been smashed.

7:51 p.m.: An officer stopped at Taco Bell to check on a report of an erratic driver. A friend had picked up the male and his car was parked.
