Police Log: Passed Out Driver, Man on Guardrail

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

 

Sunday, Dec. 23

12:14 a.m.: A driver reported she hit a deer on South Street and it ran off.

4:24 a.m.: A caller from Main Street and Old Mill Road reported the occupant of a car was passed out at the wheel at a traffic light. The man then drove off toward St. John's. Police responded and made contact with the driver at the car owner's home. He was spoken to.

7:17 a.m.: A caller reported a two car motor vehicle crash with injury in the area of 685 Main St. Medics, fire and police responded, and someone was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.

9:35 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle on Longfellow Road. A young man in a red hoodie said he was looking for better phone reception. The area was searched; police were unable to locate the motor vehicle.

9:42 a.m.: A caller reported a hit and run in the area of 77 Boston Tpke. Police responded and determined a car was left in neutral and rolled. There was very minor damage.

10:17 a.m.: A caller requested a log entry that a residence on North Street was egged sometime overnight.

4:07 p.m.: A caller reported a dog was hit by a car at Grove and Lake streets. The owner came to retrieve the dog.

5:18 p.m.: A caller reported a noise disturbance from 17 Eaglehead Terr. Police responded; the person was spoken to.

Monday, Dec. 24

7:47 a.m.: A caller from Route 9 and Oak Street reported that an older male was hitchhiking. Police responded; the man was getting into a motor vehicle.

8:22 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle going slowly through the neighborhood of Olympia Avenue. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival.

9:52 p.m.: Police were out with an intoxicated male in the area of 525 Grafton St. The man was taken to his residence on Gold Street and then transported to UMass as a Section 12.

1:37 p.m.: A caller reported a man sitting on the guardrail on I-290. Local and state police responded.

4:49 p.m.: A possible restraining order violation was reported on Pineland Avenue. Police will be filing charges.

8:55 p.m.: A caller to the police business line reported a domestic dispute. Police responded and spoke to the parties. The male party was leaving for the night to stay with a friend.

Tuesday, Dec. 25

12:48 a.m.: A third party caller reported a dispute on Surrey Lane within the last hour. Police responded and took a New York man into protective custody.

1:08 p.m.: A two-car crash was reported at Main and Boylston streets. One party was transported to UMass Memorial.

5:40 p.m.: A wallet was found in the area of 106 Maple Ave. Police made attempts to contact the wallet's owner.

8:20 p.m.: A caller reported hearing gunshots in the area of Ivy Path. Police checked the area.

Wednesday, Dec. 26

2:17 a.m.: Police received a noise complaint at 62D Shrewsbury Green Dr.; police spoke to the party and the music was going to be turned down for the night.
