Police Log: Multiple Car Break-Ins, Quail Disrupts Traffic
The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.
Tuesday, Sept. 18
1:13 p.m.: A caller in the area of Melvin and Muzzy avenues said she struck something in the road and it caused damage to her vehicle. Police determined she struck a landscaping rock at Baker and Muzzy avenues. She was advised to contact her insurance company.
3:57 p.m.: A caller from Oak Street said her son did not come home on the bus. She called back a short time after and found her son walked home from school.
7:44 p.m.: A caller from Yorkshire Terrace spoke with an officer regarding threats involving a neighbor and Facebook. Police determined no threat was made.
9:01 p.m.: Police received multiple calls regarding a power outage in the area of 460 Walnut St.
9:04 p.m.: A caller from Howe Avenue reported there was a woman lying in the roadway. Police and paramedics responded. Medics cleared with patient refusal and the woman was helped to her residence.
11:37 p.m.: A caller from Colonial Drive reported there was a continuous flashing light coming from the area; police responded and advised the light was coming from a radio tower in Boylston.
11:58 p.m.: An employee from Willicker's at 896 Hartford Tpke. requested an officer for multiple patrons becoming belligerent with her. Police moved the parties along and assisted while the employee closed.
Wednesday, Sept. 19
6:50 a.m.: A caller reported a suspicious male going through motor vehicles on South Quinsigamond. The man was last seen heading toward Route 20. The caller reported the man took loose change from motor vehicles. An officer located the man at Old Faith. Jason T. Myron, 22, of 5 Meadowstreet Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering into a motor vehicle.
8:50 a.m.: A man was going through recycling items on Hawthorne Road.
9:38 a.m.: A 2-year-old was taken to Umass by ambulance after falling down stairs on Vega Drive. The toddler had fallen down earlier and started vomiting.
1:37 p.m.: A caller from Maple Avenue reported a man just stole tools from a motor vehicle. Police responded and took two men into custody. Pablo E. Rivera, 43, of 119 Riverlin St., Millbury, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, larceny over $250 and conspiracy. Thomas J. Gerhardt, 20, of 8 Brian Cir., Millbury, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, conspiracy and larceny over $250.
1:57 p.m.: Animal Control responded to Meadowbrook Circle and Spring Street for loose dogs.
3:14 p.m.: A caller from Green Street advised of a dryer fire. The Fire Department responded.
4:29 p.m.: Animal Control responded for two small dogs running in the roadway by 1000 Main St. The dogs were not located.
7 p.m.: A caller stated a man in a black Audi passed by and threw stuff out of the window in the area of 785 Main St. Police responded and checked the area; the Audi was gone upon police arrival.
10:40 p.m.: A caller from Straw Hollow Lane requested an officer to check the area as someone had thrown something at her daughter's window. Police responded and checked the area; the thrower was not found.
Thursday, Sept. 20
2:32 a.m.: A caller reported that people were being loud at 54 Elm St. Police responded; the parties separated for the evening.
6:55 a.m.: A caller advised that a quail was struck by a vehicle on Hartford Turnpike, and people had gathered in the road, causing a traffic situation. Police responded.
7:22 a.m.: Police received a report of a small dog running around in the area of 196 Boston Tpke. Animal Control was notified the dog was struck before officers arrived on scene.
7:44 a.m.: A person went to the Police Department and reported that her dog had been attacked by another dog on Summer Street. Animal Control responded.
8:37 a.m.: A breaking and entering was reported at 47 Hartford Tpke.
12:18 p.m.: A caller from 866 Boston Tpke. requested assistance for a man in the parking lot asking customers for money. The man was gone upon police arrival.
5:31 p.m.: A caller reported her 14-year-old son was out-of-control on Claremont Circle. Police responded and the situation was under control.
5:57 p.m.: A caller requested a well-being check for her neighbor on Lake Street. The neighbor was drunk and appeared to be trying to get into his white SUV. Police responded; the man was waiting for a ride from a friend.
8:50 p.m.: An officer removed a suspicious person at the request of a homeowner on Hartford Turnpike.
11:10 p.m.: A 911 caller said a female at 2B Shrewsbury Grn. just assaulted the caller's daughter. Sarah White, 25, of 46 Bedford Ave., Worcester, was arrested and charged with assault and battery. She was also arrested on a warrant.
