Police Log: Juvenile Assault, Dinner Argument

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

 

Sunday, Nov. 11

2:34 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle near Friendly’s on Boston Turnpike and issued a criminal citation to the driver.

8:08 a.m.: A caller from South Quinsigamond reported that someone was on their back stairs at 6:50 a.m. The caller said they were unable to get to a window to see the person.

10:56 a.m.: An officer responded to a report of a harassment restraining order violation on Summer Street. Officers arrested James Reade, 30, of 20 Summer St. at his home and charged him with violating the harassment order.

2:54 p.m.: A caller reported a traffic complaint on Surrey Lane. An officer responded and found the vehicle in question at the registered owner’s house. The officer left his card on the vehicle for the owner.

4:52 p.m.: An officer spoke to a resident of Flagg Road and advised them to extinguish the burning pile of leaves in their yard.

7:07 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of shoplifting from CVS on Boston Turnpike. The vehicle was last seen heading on Route 9 westbound.

7:16 p.m.: An officer responded to several calls reporting a verbal argument on Francis Gardens Court. After speaking to a person who was involved the officer learned that the argument was over dinner.

8:05 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of shoplifting in progress at CVS. Officers stopped the vehicle that a caller said the suspects were traveling in. Eugene Piacentini, 54, of 765 Main St., Worcester and William Callahan, 37, of 701 Main St., Worcester, were both arrested. Police are charging the two men with shoplifting.

8:12 p.m.: An officer responded with the Shrewsbury Fire Department to a stove fire on Avalon Way.

Monday, Nov. 12

1:26 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Stoney Hill Road and arrested Charisa Fussell, 37, of 11 Gibbs St., Apt. C45, Worcester. Fussell is charged with operating with a suspended license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and attaching license plates to an unregistered vehicle.

3:15 a.m.: An officer reported a spray painted building on Grafton Street. A screen has also been removed from the back of the building.

9:23 a.m.: A resident of Ashley Drive went in to the station to report a larceny.

9:36 a.m.: A person went in to the police station to report a dog bit to their upper thigh. Animal Control was notified.

12:29 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious vehicle with heavy front-end damage, a flat tire and smoking engine on Oak Street. An officer responded and located the owner. The officer also reported a knocked over fire hydrant in the area.

4:36 p.m.: A caller reported a male in a wheelchair causing a disturbance at IHOP. An officer responded and issued a no trespassing order to the male.

6:41 p.m.: A caller from the State Police reported that a female called from Meadowsweet Road to report a physical altercation between her brothers. An officer responded and arrested a juvenile. The juvenile is charged with two counts of assault and battery and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Tuesday, Nov. 13

12:00 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer retrieved an injured cat from Spring Street.

12:02 p.m.: The Animal Control Officer spoke to a person who had found two dogs on South Quinsigamond.

1:16 p.m.: A caller reported a lost cat on Harrington Farms. The Animal Control Officer responded and spoke to the resident who was setting up a trap.

3:38 p.m.: A resident went in to the station to report a hit and run accident in a parking lot. A witness was able to obtain the license plate from the vehicle that left the area.

4:11 p.m.: A caller reported a male walking on North Quinsigamond with a rifle. An officer spoke to the man who was carrying an umbrella and not a rifle.

5:34 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash on Hartford Turnpike near South Street. One vehicle was towed and medics evaluated a child for injuries at the scene.

5:42 p.m.: An officer responded to a car vs. pedestrian crash on Boston Turnpike. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital.

11:53 p.m.: A manager from the Worcester City Motel reported an unwelcome male at the motel. An officer assisted while the male retrieved personal belongings from a room.

Wednesday, Nov. 14

1:17 a.m.: A detail officer spoke to a male who was loitering outside Walgreens. The male reported that he was using the wireless internet and the officer moved him along.

4:00 a.m.: An officer issued citations for parking violations on O’Donnell Avenue, Oriole Circle, Sandpiper Drive, Swan Circle, Thestland Drive, Wachusett Avenue and Longfellow Road.

6:30 a.m.: A 911 caller reported that their mother and father were having a verbal altercation. Officers responded and arrested Angelo Cipro, 62, of 33 Plainfield Ave. Cipro is being charged with assault and battery.
