Police Log: Hit and Run, Suspicious Doorbell Ringers
The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.
Thursday, Oct. 4
12:14 a.m.: An officer responded to a carbon monoxide alarm activation on Elm Street.
12:41 a.m.: An officer assisted a mother in locating her 20-year-old son on Main Street.
2:05 a.m.: Officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department responded to a report of an unwanted female on Hartford Turnpike. The female was removed for the night.
7:59 a.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on Main Street near Route 290. No injuries were reported; one vehicle was towed.
10:59 a.m.: A resident reported suspicious activity regarding their boat on Lake Quinsigamond.
12:05 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a male yelling and using vulgar language on Main Street. The male was sent on his way.
12:44 p.m.: A caller reported a dispute over a common driveway on Main Street. Officers responded and the vehicle in question was moved.
1:06 p.m.: A caller reported a two-car crash on Boston Turnpike. No injuries were reported.
3:06 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of a dump truck spilling its load on Main Street and Carlton Street. The Highway Department was called to remove the gravel.
4:42 p.m.: A two-car crash occurred on Boston Turnpike at South Street. One vehicle was towed.
5:15 p.m.: Officers responded to a domestic incident on Saturn Drive. The female involved was removed for the night.
6:46 p.m.: A caller reported people going door to door after dark on Guinevere Circle. Officers responded and spoke to the people.
7:37 p.m.: A caller asked to retrieve their license. After speaking to an officer it was determined that the caller was looking for Shrewsbury Missouri.
8:04 p.m.: An officer requested a tow for a vehicle after the operator was cited for unlicensed operation.
8:10 p.m.: A caller reported someone aggressively ringing their doorbell. An officer responded and spoke to a male who was canvassing the area.
Friday, Oct. 5
1:34 p.m.: Officers were advised of 8-10 teens running around Tralee Lane ringing doorbells and causing a disturbance. The officers were unable to locate the teens.
4:05 a.m.: A caller reported a barking dog on Crescent Street. An officer responded but no one was home at the address.
7:00 a.m.: A caller reported that their mailbox on Floral Street had been hit overnight.
9:24 a.m.: A caller reported a white Cadillac heading toward Route 20 on South Quinsigamond. The Cadillac had allegedly a mailbox and a fire hydrant along with another vehicle.
9:56 a.m.: A property owner reported illegal dumping on Maple Street. An officer responded and followed up with the owner on O’Donnell Ave.
11:33 a.m.: A person reported a bike on the premises on Boston Turnpike. The entire building was searched but no one was found inside.
2:36 p.m.: Animal Control was notified of a large, loose dog on Crescent Street.
2:39 p.m.: An officer spoke to a resident about a dispute on Spruce Street.
3:16 p.m.: An officer responded to a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on Prospect Street. The pedestrian was alert and taken to the hospital.
3:37 p.m.: A resident went in to the station to report the theft of an ATM card and fraudulent charges.
3:46 p.m.: An officer took a report after a walk-in reported a suspicious vehicle at a bus stop on Lakeside Drive.
3:55 p.m.: Two callers reported a road rage issue on Boston Turnpike. Both callers were involved in the incident.
4:17 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-car crash on South Quinsigamond. No injuries were reported.
5:07 p.m.: Officers responded to a report of a possibly confused man standing in the middle of Lake Street. The man was not located.
6:00 p.m.: An officer responded to a crash in a parking lot on Boston Turnpike.
7:35 p.m.: An anonymous caller reported a large party on Oak Street. Officers responded and reported that the party was not loud and no suspicious activity was observed. Adults were on the scene.
7:56 p.m.: An officer assisted a resident of Boylston Street gain access to her home.
8:43 p.m.: A caller reported a past larceny from Boston Turnpike.
9:14 p.m.: A resident reported a past break-in attempt.
9:40 p.m.: Officers responded to a business on South Quinsigamond where an employee reported an intoxicated juvenile. The juvenile was taken in to protective custody.
9:58 p.m.: An officer checked a vehicle behind a building on Boston Turnpike. Both people in the car were spoken to and released in to the custody of their parents.
