Police Log: Dog Feces Dispute, OUI Arrest

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

 

Friday, Sept. 21

1:23 a.m.: Police stopped a car in the area of 474 Boston Tpke. Matthew H. Finley, 24, of 1630 Worcester Rd., Framingham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

3 a.m.: Police took a Shrewsbury man into protective custody on Route 140 and Main Street.

10:14 a.m.: Animal Control was heading to Northborough to pick up a blue heron and take it to Tufts.

1:10 p.m.: A caller reported a larceny of tickets from a raffle basket at 98 Maple Ave. Police took a report.

3:07 p.m.: An officer spoke to kids that were jumping around on a bus in the area of 610 Hartford Tpke.

7:21 p.m.: A passerby on Maple Avenue and Hapgood Way reported a group of youths jumping into traffic and throwing sticks. Police responded; they were gone upon arrival.

8:21 p.m.: A caller from Spruce Street reported a dog barking for the last two hours. Police responded and the dog was still barking. The owner was unable to be reached by phone.

Saturday, Sept. 22

1:53 a.m.: Christopher S. Roberts, 24, of 17 Esther St., Apt. 3, Worcester, was arrested on North Quinsigamond and charged on a warrant.

2:11 a.m.: Police pulled over a woman on Boston Turnpike. Amber J. Palmerino, 26, of 137 Oak St., Apt. 14, Ashland, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, speeding and a marked lanes violation.

1:12 p.m.: The owner of a West Highland Terrier at 20 Raymond Ave. reported the dog was missing. His name was Casper.

5:16 p.m.: Police were in pursuit of a vehicle on Route 9. The car was stopped in front of 15 Mountain View. Carolyn E. Baker, 19, of 8 Huntington Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in violation of special regulations and failure to stop for a police officer.

6:14 p.m.: A caller reported her son accidentally broke a window to the middle school on Sherwood Avenue, with a rock. The caller was advised to call the School Department on Monday; officers made sure the window was secure for the weekend.

Sunday, Sept. 23

9:49 a.m.: A person went to the Police Department to speak to an officer regarding a neighbor dispute on Harrington Avenue. The person was advised to call the animal officer about dog feces, and was advised that it was a civil issue.

11:16 a.m.: A motor vehicle struck a deer at Route 140 and Gold Street.

11:25 a.m.: A caller reported striking a cat on Stoney Hill Road. Information was forwarded to Animal Control.

2:52 a.m.: A caller reported that a dog was barking for the last six hours at Glendale Avenue and Clinton Street. Police responded and the complaint was unfounded.

Monday, Sept. 24

3:49 a.m.: A caller from Casavan Avenue requested an officer to respond to an argument he was having with his wife. Domestic rights were issued.
