Police Log: Assaulted Police Officer, Air Balloon Incident
The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.
Thursday, Oct. 25
2:19 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Boston Turnpike and Maple Avenue and arrested Edwin Carrasquillo, 19, of 201 Belmont St., Worcester and Wilbert Paris, 20, of 151 Belmont St., Apt 3 Worcester. During the arrest all officers from the Shrewsbury Police Department were requested to respond for assistance. Carrasquillo was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct. Paris was charged with unlicensed operation and operation without an inspection sticker.
6:24 a.m.: A caller from North Quinsigamond said that there was a suspicious white powder on all of her vehicles. An officer responded and observed that the powder was flour and no damage was done to the vehicles.
8:48 a.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on Oak Street; the vehicle was towed for having an expired registration.
9:44 a.m.: An officer responded to a 911 call about an air balloon that went down on Bumblebee Circle, no injuries were reported.
11:43 a.m.: A caller from Harriet Avenue reported a suspicious male in his 20s going door to door asking for work. Officers responded and sent the male on his way.
6:27 p.m.: A caller reported people standing on Sheridan Drive involved in marijuana activities. An officer responded and took a report of the violation.
7:26 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious person going door to door on Bunker Hill Road. An officer responded and spoke to the person who was campaigning for Elizabeth Warren.
9:45 p.m.: A caller reporting two males causing a disturbance in the park on Main Street. An officer responded and sent them on their way.
Friday, Oct. 26
12:19 a.m.: James P. Wilson, 47, of 17 Winn Valley Dr., Burlington was arrested on warrant charges stemming from a car stop.
10:23 a.m.: A caller from Commons Drive reported a silver station wagon with no license plates. The caller said the vehicle stops at the location once a month but had just left the area. The caller was advised to call next time the vehicle was in the area.
2:56 p.m.: A caller said that two SUVs just pulled in to a parking lot on Maple Avenue at a high rate of speed. When an officer responded the vehicles were gone.
3:07 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a male causing a disturbance in Trader Joes on Boston Turnpike.
7:18 p.m.: Shrewsbury Police officers were advised to be on the lookout for a van with no lights on driving on North Quinsigamond.
10:27 p.m.: A caller reported a Monte Carlo driving on Harrington Avenue at an “extremely high rate of speed.” An officer spoke with the operator and advised them to slow down.
10:51 p.m.: A caller reported a noise complaint with underage drinking on O’Donnell Avenue. An officer responded and spoke to the four teens who were gathered and not consuming alcohol.
