Police Log: Assault & Battery, Jersey Barrier Jumper
The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.
Tuesday, Sept. 4
2:05 a.m.: A caller from Arbor Drive requested an officer for a domestic. Milford police responded to assist. Bradley Anderson, 24, of 21 Kellett Dr., Apt. 2, Milford, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.
9:24 a.m.: A man went to the Police Department lobby to report a past minor motor vehicle accident on Main Street that involved a police cruiser. Police took a report.
6:45 p.m.: A small fire was reported in an apartment on North Quinsigamond. The fire was extinguished.
9:04 p.m.: Northborough police put a be on the lookout notice out for a shoplifter from Kohl's.
9:23 p.m.: Police pulled over John Koback, 39, of 6 Hingham Rd., North Grafton, on Boston Turnpike and arrested him on a warrant.
Wednesday, Sept. 5
1:32 p.m.: A passerby in the area of Oak Street and Howe Avenue reported a large turtle in the road. Animal Control responded; the turtle wasn't there.
7:56 p.m.: A passerby near the Route 9 bridge was concerned for a blonde female who was trying to jump over the jersey barrier on the bridge. An officer working a detail in the area advised the woman to use the crosswalk.
Thursday, Sept. 6
9:52 a.m.: An person went to the Police Department to report two suspicious vehicles in the Sewell Street area. Police determined they were Jehovahs Witnesses.
10:58 a.m.: A caller said two men illegally dumped trash in a dirt lot across from 90 Edgemere Blvd. Police spoke with the suspect's wife who said the land was privately owned and they had permission to leave yard waste there.
11:25 p.m.: A caller said her boyfriend was back at her address on Holden Street and attempting to break in. Police responded. Isaiha Serrano, 34, of 27 Geminias St., Apt. 3, Worcester, was arrested and charged with possession of burglarious tools, attempting to commit a crime and trespassing.
12:19 p.m.: A woman went to the Police Department to report she was assaulted by her ex husband while at Dean Park. Police arrested David McPherson, 44, of 411 Massasoit Rd., Worcester, and charged him with domestic assault and battery.
1:23 p.m.: A caller from Janet Circle reported a package in the mail with white powder. The Fire Department responded; a report was filed.
1:25 p.m.: Paramedics transported a highly intoxicated 25-year-old from Cranbrook Road to UMass.
3:40 p.m.: An officer advised dispatch that a vehicle in front of him on Old Mill Road struck a cat. Animal Control was notified.
4:13 p.m.: Animal Control responded to Minuteman Way for a sick woodchuck. The animal was terminated.
4:59 p.m.: Animal Control reported a man and a woman were asking people for money at Route 20 and South Street. Police responded and were unable to locate the pair.
5:26 p.m.: An officer requested the Highway Department be notified for illegal dumping at Holden and Bow streets.
5:56 p.m.: Animal Control responded to South Quinsigamond and Lake Street for a report of a dead dog. It was in fact a dead raccoon.
8:15 p.m.: A caller from Lakeside Drive reported a vehicle was parked in the road every night for six months, facing the wrong direction. The vehicle was not parked illegally or obstructing anything, police determined.
Friday, Sept. 7
1:55 a.m.: A 911 caller said yelling was coming from Laurel Avenue. Police responded and spoke to a homeowner who said her daughter was "over-excited." The parties were going to quiet down.
2:36 a.m.: Paul L. Guthrie, 42, of 245 Clark St., Worcester, was arrested on Hartford Turnpike and charged with larceny over $250, possession of Class A with intent to distribute and possession of Class B with intent to distribute.
