Paton Playground Update
The final design is in and fundraising is moving along.
- The final design for the Paton playground was voted on by students and gained final approval from the town. The student vote was organized and led by the Paton fourth grade student council members.
- Fundraising is moving along with only about $10K left to go. An early May build-date is anticipated.
- Paton has two fundraisers slotted for January.
- Dunkin Donuts (in the center of town, owned by George Cadette ) just came on board as the latest corporate sponsor with an extremely generous $7500 contribution.
The Playground project is projected to be delivered WAY ahead of schedule. It was thought that the process might take 2-3 years just to fundraise and we are projecting a 14 month time frame that includes fundraising through implementation. (A true testament to the generosity of the Shrewsbury community and the businesses who reside here)

According to Lorraine Daignault, they are using wood fiber vs. wood chips which are intended for landscaping. The special wood fiber they will be using for the new Paton playground is 100 percent ADA compliant.

I am glad to hear that. Now all children with/out mobility impairments can have equal access to the playground.
