Nude Photos of Shrewsbury High Girls Posted on Internet

The photos are reportedly the result of sexting.

Shrewsbury Police are investigating postings of nude Shrewsbury Senior High School girls on the Internet, reported FOX 25.

The photos are reportedly of girls from all grade levels and are a result of sexting, which is when a person sends sexually explicit messages or photos, usually on mobile devices.

According to the news station, some posts on the website had encouraged young men to upload more photos they may have been sent.

An investigator for Shrewsbury Police could not be reached for comment Saturday morning. A spokesman for the superintendent also could not be reached.

In a statement provided to FOX 25, the school system indicated it had reported the issue to law enforcement agencies, and "We are asking these agencies to do whatever they can to protect the safety of the students involved."

Unfortunately, many high school kids are posting their own inappropriate photos on the web, with facebook and many other sites. Young people do not realize how easily this can become dangerous, invite predators and spread beyond their "friends"! Parents need to wake up & oversee the kids!

I agree, parents really need to educate their children and also watch their digital life to a certain extent. They are in high school and by default think they are 'grown up' and know all, while they are really still quite naive and innocent. Communication between parents and their children is vital, but also have some designated other 'older' friend/family person that they can always talk to and who is a confidante, not always do teenagers want to talk to their parents. I plan to have another sit down with my two girls and talk about the long and uncontrolled life of digital files.

If the town insists on sweeping this incident under the rug because they are afraid of losing thier funding I will make sure anyone that comes to my FB knows before you register your child for Shrewsbury High School - the school board allows Sexual Deviants to roam the halls with no consquences for thier actions. Parents watch out!!!!!!

Shrewsbury High School is a terrible place. I couldn't stand it there and transferred to a private school. This was a few years ago, but I'm sure it is still just as horrid as it was. Everything about it, the students, the teachers- no compassion for other human beings whatsoever. There will be no consequence for the parties involved, mark my words. As rampant as they let all sorts of bullying and misconduct run, there will be nothing done about this. It's very sad. If you're child's well being matters to you- I advise not enrolling them to any of Shrewsbury's public schools- they will be tormented and no one will do anything to help. I speak from experience.
