Kid-Friendly Fun: Dean Park, Shelly's Cafe
Take advantage of time with your kids and get out and enjoy these hot spots. Your Patch Passport gives you options for great local spots for kid-friendly fun.
Dean Park is one of those places in town that you can enjoy time with the family in so many different ways.
You can take a nature walk through the woods, fish at the pond, play and climb at the playground and even play baseball or soccer on the fields. Bring your bikes for a nice mile-long loop around the parkas well.
Or look for fish in the creek that runs through the park. There is really something for everyone in your family. And if you just want to sit back and relax, stop at one of the park benches and soak in the scenery.
Throughout the day, the fountains in the pond provide a great show along with music if you tune your radio to the station posted and at night, there is even a light show.
Another great place to bring the family is Shelly's Cafe and Deli offers a quick bite for the family and an ice cream shop with dozens of flavors to choose.
Whether your family likes cups, cones, sundaes or banana splits, the choices are endless at Shelly's.
They even have lobster ice cream, though it's red-swirl and no real lobster is in the ice cream.
And if you prefer frozen yogurt, there are about a half dozen flavors available. Stop by and enjoy some ice cream, especially in the heat.
