iPhone 4S Hits Stores

The iPhone 4S was sold out on Friday, the day it was released.

The new iPhone 4S, which has upgrades including the IOS 5, was sold out at the AT&T Store in town on Friday, the day it was released.

Neil Cavanaugh of Worcester waited in line to get his first iPhone.

"I was waiting for the new one to come out," Cavanaugh said. "I'm really excited to get home and try it out."

The salespeople at the AT&T Store said they had about 30 new iPhones in stock on Friday, but were sold out by the end of the day.

The new features include: a dual-core A5 chip, which gives the phone more power, an 8 mega-pixel camera that also shoots 1080p HD video and a new feature called Siri, which allows users to use voice control.

More than 1 million people pre-ordered the phone in one day, breaking the record of preorders for the iPhone 4, according to PCMag.com.

The iPhone 4S is available at the AT&T and Verizon Wireless stores in town.
