Help Corina Find a Lap to Rest her Head

This 10-year-old senior seeks a companion.

Corina is a sweet, purebred American pit bull terrier who has been with the (WARL) since January when she arrived as a stray. Corina is gentle, mild mannered and she loves her humans. To help her find a home soon, her adoption fee has been lowered to just $50.

During her time at the shelter, Corina has displayed nothing but kindness toward other dogs and would do great in a home with most breeds. Interested takers who already own dogs should bring along these pets when traveling to meet the friendly Corina, who is already spayed. Stop by the shelter and speak with our Dog Adoption Coordinator Liz Fay. Please make sure to have your dog’s vet records with you.

If you are a homeowner, bring your mortgage statement or water bill; renters bring a copy of your lease agreement. Everyone who adopts must bring in a driver’s license.

There are ways to help the WARL without rescuing a pet. If you like art and would like to help, head to the Dark World Gallery (DWG) in Worcester for Skate of the Art 3; Vans on the Wall, which is an annual fundraiser co-sponsored by Concrete Wave. With assistance from the company Vans, 30 pairs of white sneakers were donated for this event. Artists used this canvas to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces for a silent auction. The works of art produced by the 28 participants are scheduled to be unveiled at the DWG on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. WARL employees will be on hand to answer questions about available animals. People are invited to peruse the shoes and place bids on wanted items. The auction is silent and will close at the end of August.

WARL is a private, non-profit organization located at 139 Holden St., Worcester. The WARL is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Visit the WARL’s facebook page, or call 508-853-0030.
