Barack Obama Wins Massachusetts

A majority of voters in Massachusetts on Tuesday cast their ballot for Barack Obama, giving him the state's 11 Electoral votes.

Barack Obama won Massachusetts' 11 electoral votes on Tuesday, defeating Republican Mitt Romney.

In the 2008 presidential election, the state voted for the Democratic candidate, and since the 1990s has voted for the overall winner of the presidential race 3 out of 5 times.

Shortly after 8 p.m., the AP called Massachusetts for Obama, along with with six other east coast states and the District of Columbia.

Romney and Obama did not campaign aggressively in Massachusetts. The state has typically been a Democratic stronghold in recent presidential elections.

The economy was a key issue for many voters in the state, as was the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as Obamacare.

Romney cast his ballot this morning in his hometown of Belmont, and is holding his election night party at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center, where Patch is reporting live.

Now there is an astute observation.... Shows the culture of hard work and positive thinking toward a better life is dead for those who voted for accepting the "new normal" of low expectations. If Obama wins more of the same coming plus inflation. Don't whine you cool aide drinkers when your siruation gets twice as bad

Can't blame the politicians...just the weak people that vote for them again, and again, and again.... At this rate we have forgotten history that socialism doesn't work. Running capitalism into the ground, we will soon have nothing left to prosper with. When the government is eventually so far in debt, even the EBT cards will have insufficient funds. Then what? When the koolaide is gone and the Messiah Obama had left, what new means will we manufacture to place the blame? Ourselves? That would be just too convenient.

They always seem to forget that the Kool-Aid drinkers aren't, as a rule, the winners. They're the die-ers. (Also, it was Flavor Aid at Jonestown, but I dread to see how they'd spell that.)

That and Massachusetts' commitment to education. But hey, you can't make everyone avail themselves of education, and so you get people whose entire belief systems are magical; and yes, they genuinely believe that they'd be rich if the government weren't holding them down.

Yes... Capitalism. This is a vote on what is becoming a nanny state. At the DNC the word "profit" was used as target for the new evil. It is clearly unblelievable how little the staunch democrats understand how the economy works. This Warren victory affirms our electorate's support for the radical socialist Occupy movement. This is a war on capitalism. And hey I didn't make this up, didn't you watch the last Micael Moore movie? I SERIOUSLY can't believe this.

Why does the electorate in the commonwealth vote for the party line? I was a Dem for years until I realized the sheer pandering involved. I'm not partisan to a party nor am I registered R OR D. I look at the individual. Apparently this is not a common theme. It's ok... I know that history will speak for itself. In the meantime I'm hiding my money under a mattress.

The election results, What do they mean? Not proud to be a woman in America !

We voted in favor of drugs, killing seniors & nine month old fetuses, free vibrators and birth control, brought to you by the efforts of Sandra Fluke ?

Voting for Obama is like sleeping with a Whore according to Silvio Berlusconi, you feel great while you're doing it, you feel disgusted after the deed. You feel regret once the doctor tells you the bad news about your new STD's. I guess what I'm worried about. What will children inherit further on down the road and not past indiscretions. The danger to our country and the world is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the office of the Presidency. It would be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. Cognitive Linguistics only proves out that the opiate of the people would be comprised of that entity providing for what the people want. As our children are enabled our adults are entitled which is why Obama won the heart and souls of our people. We are plagued and damned as a people to one way of thinking, brain washed by media from all sources. What is needed is a new awakening, and opening up of ones mind. "Being responsible and mindful" The problem is much deeper and far more serious than President Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America
