12 Cub Scouts Receive Arrrow of Light Award
Five scouts also earn the Webelos 'High Achiever' award.
Submitted by Cub Scouts, Pack 146, Shrewsbury
Each year, Cub Scout Packs celebrate the achievements of Scouts of all ranks at Blue and Gold ceremonies.
This year in particular, Pack 146 is especially proud to celebrate the achievements of 12 Scouts who are graduating from the Cub Scout program into Boy Scout Troop 227. Of the 12 Scouts that are graduating, all of them have earned the Arrow of Light award, the highest single award in Cub Scouting and the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on the Boy Scout Uniform.
In addition, Pack 146 is proud to announce that five of these Arrow of Light recipients will also be awarded a "High Achiever" award. As scouts who have achieved the Webelos rank (current 5th graders), these boys are asked to earn eight Webelos Activity Pins. Instead, Pack 146 had a group of five who motivated themselves and each other to go above and beyond. Instead of earning the required eight-out-of-20 pins, they earned all 20—a rare accomplishment.
Great thanks to their Den Leader and Cub Master, Mrs. Lois Horton, and their Assistant Den Leader, Mrs. Sharyn Thomas, who coached and enabled these boys to achieve the great goal they set forth for themselves.
The achievements will be celebrated on March 9 at 6 p.m at the Fr. Smith Center at St. Anne's Parish, Route 9, Shrewsbury. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. followed by the awards ceremony at approximately 6:45 p.m.
